Phunny you mention "Loser" in your post When someone asks me about a definitive version of any song, Loser is the first song that comes to mind. For me the definitive Loser is from Ventura 84. Really an angry, growling version by Jerry.

Nice call Rob, thanks! I just checked it out, realizing that this is the Close Encounters show. This J S is short and to the point with some really frenzied fanning by Jerry. Nice!

difficult question as many confuse the 'favorite' version with 'definitive'. Two that jump out for me though would be:

8-27-72 Greatest Story
8-6-71 Hard to Handle
